The K-Lite Codec Pack has five different editions, which have differing included components. Codecs are used for both audio and video, and the K-Lite Codec Pack includes the most popular codecs in demand today, plus other media playback tools such as the Media Player Classic, the Codec Tweak Tool, and the GSpot Codec Information Appliance.
K-Lite is a codec pack – a collection of software components (called codecs) that enable the computer to run and play back media content that is not natively supported in the system itself for example, a codec for OGM files, a type of video, allows Windows based computers to play it even though support is not built in on the standard Windows installation.
